Eagles Lane Smacks 5 Hits Tuesday, September 19th, 2017 What a day for Tim Lane of the Whitewater Eagles! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Penzance pitching apart at Penlee Park and sparked the Eagles to a 10-3 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Lane told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that." Tim Lane tripled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. For the year Lane has hit .201 with 4 home runs, 33 RBIs and scored 42 runs. |
