Knutsen Batters Whitewater Big Time Sunday, August 6th, 2017 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Dave Knutsen -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Baylor Ballpark and paced the Stingrays to a 12-2 win over the Whitewater Eagles. After his dynamite batting performance the Sanford center fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Dave Knutsen hit a two-run home run off Charlie Vessey in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th. In the current season, Knutsen has put up a .244 batting average with 47 hits, 4 home runs, 31 RBI and scored 25 runs. |
