Pérez #1 AHL Pitcher in July Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 Alfonso Pérez took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the August Herrman League Pitcher of the Month award for July. The 20-year-old Sting starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 4-0 won-lost record in 5 starts. This month he fanned 26 batters in 34.1 innings and compiled a 1.05 ERA. This year Pérez has a 10-6 mark in 21 starts with a 3.38 ERA. He has given up 137 hits in 133.1 innings, struck out 103 and issued 38 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .269 batting average against him. |
