Free-for-All Costs Powers and López 6-Game Suspensions
Wednesday, May 16th, 2012
If there wasn't a history between John Powers of Kingwood and Víctor López of Victoria, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 6 games as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Powers said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
This season Powers is batting .333 with 1 home run.
This year López has compiled a 4-2 record with a 3.32 ERA in 7 starts.
