Monday, September 26th, 2016
So far in his young career, Mike Hobbs has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the August Herrman League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.
The 24-year-old Sanford Stingrays catcher hit at a torrid .448 clip as he collected 13 hits in 29 at-bats, no home runs, 4 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
In the current season, Hobbs has put up a .222 batting average with 118 hits, 11 home runs, 71 RBI and scored 60 runs.
