Negreiros Nets AHL #1 Pitcher Award Monday, September 1st, 2014 There's something about a young rookie winning the August Herrman League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Diogo Negreiros, a 19-year-old starter for the Huntsville Sabercats. In August, he topped off the month with a 4-1 mark and 1.76 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 41 innings, fanned 45 and held opposing teams to a .192 average. Up to now Negreiros has compiled an ERA of 2.12 with a 18-6 mark over 28 starts. He has 154 strikeouts in 190.2 innings and has held opponents to a .201 batting average. |
