Mustangs Márquez Wins BOL Best Hurler Honor Monday, July 1st, 2013 "The kid had it all working last month," a veteran teammate told reporters. "He keeps up those kind of numbers, we might have to start inviting him out with us after the games." Edgar Márquez put together a very solid month to take home the Buck O'Neil League's top pitching honor in June. The 18-year-old reliever threw like a veteran. In 14 relief appearances he raked in 9 saves and 12 strikeouts in 13.1 innings as he put together his 4-1 record and 2.03 ERA. This season Márquez has worked 33.2 innings in 34 relief appearances and picked up 19 saves. He has dished out 27 strikeouts and walked 20 with a 7-3 mark and a 2.41 ERA. |
