Frederick on a Rampage, Hits for Cycle
Tuesday, August 15th, 2017
"To hit for the cycle" is one of the rarest of feats in a baseball game. This occurs when a player hits a single, double, triple and home run in the same game, getting every type of hit possible. Kris Frederick grabbed a piece of baseball history today when he hit for the cycle. Frederick went 4 for 5 with 1 RBI and 3 runs scored against Long Island, leading the Blackpool Gamblers to a 8-6 win at Long Island Stadium.
"I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Frederick said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me. The ball seemed that big to me. And it just floated in."
Kris Frederick walked in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Shintaro Maekawa in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, tripled in the 9th and singled in the 10th.
Currently Frederick is batting .244 with 10 home runs and 41 RBIs.
