Hits Galore: Takahashi Drills 5 Hits Wednesday, June 28th, 2017 Masahiko Takahashi really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at UFO Field, the Cincinnati third baseman blistered the Phoenix Lights for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace his club to a 12-5 victory. "Takahashi was too tough to get out today," the Lights skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Masahiko Takahashi hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Javier Hernández in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 9th. For the year Takahashi is batting .292 with 63 hits and 8 home runs. He has scored 41 times and driven in 38. |
