Rodríguez Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 20 Wednesday, June 14th, 2017 The hitting streak that Cincinnati right fielder Júlio Rodríguez had going was ended today by the Riverside Red Bulls. Rodríguez, who had hits in his previous 20 games, was stymied today, but the rest of his team picked him up, earning the Snaps a 3-2 victory at Red Bull Stadium. He was hitless in 3 at-bats. "Hitting streaks come and go. One good thing came out of it, however, it perked up my batting average a little bit, but did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with the streak always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." Thus far in 2017 Rodríguez is hitting .395 with 5 home runs, 16 RBIs, 17 runs scored and has compiled a .467 OBP. |
