Carey Voted Best ACL Pitcher in April Monday, May 1st, 2017 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Sandy Carey, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Asheville Tourists closer, 23, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .196 average and walked away with the Alexander Cartwright League Pitcher of the Month award for April. Carey posted a 3-0 mark and a 0.69 ERA in 11 relief appearances. In 13 innings, he had 5 saves, 15 strikeouts, and 3 walks. |
