Ma Launches 3 HR for Deacons Friday, April 21st, 2017 Murfreesboro right fielder Kim-Hu Ma almost did it all today. He sent three shots out of the ballpark, scored 4 times and drove in 5 runs and had 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but the Deacons were beaten 13-12 by the Carson City Mustang. "I'd be lying if I said I didn't like hitting three homers, but losing takes a little glitter off the game," he admitted to BNN writers after the game. After his standout performance, Ma will now see his name go into the league records. The winning manager said, "When someone hits three home runs, you put yourself in a tough position to win. We were lucky to win this one. I don't think it matters how hard you throw, especially in the Ford Frick League. If you leave a ball out over the plate to good DOUBLE A hitters, if they get a bead on you and you leave it over the middle, they're probably going to take a pretty good hack at it." Kim-Hu Ma hit a solo-shot off Muneyaki Ichihara in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Muneyaki Ichihara in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jason Johnston in the 8th and flied out in the 9th. So far in 2017 Ma is batting .356 with 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has 21 hits in 59 at-bats and a .465 OBP. |
