Orlando Durango Out for 12 Months
Saturday, June 11th, 2016
Orlando Durango at first refused to leave today's Murfreesboro-Phoenix game after he suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Phoenix reliever said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Durango out of action for 12 months.
This season Durango has been credited with 15 saves. In 26 relief appearances and 25 innings he has a 3-1 won-lost mark, 1.44 ERA and 27 strikeouts
