Hit Streak Over, Hackers Stop Brock
Saturday, September 19th, 2015
Lake of the Isles left fielder Carl Brock came into today's game against the Silicon Valley Hackers on a hot streak. When it was over, the Hackers did their job very well. They beat the Lake of the Isles Wolves 6-3 and cooled him off at the same time. Silicon Valley stopped Brock without a hit and his 26-game hitting streak came to an end.
The 23-year-old Brock only had a few words to say after the game, "I had a chance to do it and I came up short."
His manager commented, "What Carl did was exciting and quite an achievement. It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 26 games in a row. I'm really proud of him. And I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."
Thus far in 2015 Brock is hitting .345 with 8 home runs, 22 RBIs, 27 runs scored and has compiled a .429 OBP.
