FFL Pitcher of the Month Goes to Townend Wednesday, October 1st, 2014 In September, Calvin Townend tore through the Ford Frick League like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 24 years old. The young New York starter posted a 6-0 mark and an ERA of 1.97 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 45.2 innings he collected 37 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .198 average. In 17 starts this season Townend has recorded a 17-7 record and a 2.91 ERA. |
