García Caps Great Week Monday, August 18th, 2014 Newark Jail Birds left fielder Fernando García had a great time at the plate last week, running up some sensational numbers that no one else could match. Few people were surprised today when the Alexander Cartwright League named him Player of the Week. García banged out 10 hits in 24 at-bats on the way to a .417 batting average. He also racked up 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 4 runs scored. On the season, García is batting .356 with 4 home runs and 17 RBIs. He has played in 21 games. |
