Shayne Linnie Hurt, Out 4 Months Friday, May 16th, 2014 Watching Shayne Linnie getting helped off the field today at North Shore Park, fans of the Grand Haven Whitecaps feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the starting pitcher will miss 4 months with a torn rotator cuff. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Linnie suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the Rams. Presently Linnie has a 3-2 mark in 8 starts with a 4.61 ERA. He has given up 42 hits in 41 innings, struck out 24 and issued 33 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .258 batting average against him. |
