Riley Slams 5 Hits for Murfreesboro
Saturday, May 3rd, 2014
Players get multihit games all the time. But a 5-hit game comes around only once in a blue moon. It happened at William Spade Park when Ed Riley of Murfreesboro scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Long Island Ducks.

He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Deacons get by the Ducks 7-3.

In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the center fielder of the Deacons said, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-5. I could get used to a lot of days like this one."

Ed Riley hit a two-run home run off Ben Baker in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

In his 2014 season totals, Riley has 5 home runs, .362 BA, .455 OBP, 17 RBIs and 22 runs scored.
