5-Hit Game for Townsend Friday, August 16th, 2013 Dave Townsend put on a hitting clinic today as the Ninjas dumped the Storm Troopers 15-7 at The Clone Army. The New York catcher sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing San Antonio pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch." Dave Townsend singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Newt Pearce in the 9th. To date this year Townsend is batting .263 with 12 home runs. |
