Brown Premier Pitcher in May Friday, June 1st, 2012 In May, Melvin Brown tore through the Kade Stenson League like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 21 years old. The young Birmingham starter posted a 5-1 mark and an ERA of 2.61 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 41.1 innings he collected 43 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .250 average. This season Brown has a 6-5 record with a 3.61 ERA. |
