Ingram Tames Diablos Sunday, August 6th, 2017 "That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," the Raptors manager told reporters after today's game. The Diablos ran into a buzzsaw as Nelson Ingram cut them down to size 16-0 with a 6-hit shutout. His skipper added, "He knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one." In the complete game whitewash the Toledo hurler doled out 1 walk and registered 4 strikeouts. In the postgame press conference his catcher said, "Nelson goes out there and just goes about his business. I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. You can call any pitch and you know where he's going to be." Ingram also got some praise from the El Paso manager. "He really kept us in check today. Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away... we took some pathetic swings." This year Ingram has a 6-10 record with a 5.66 ERA in 22 starts. |
