Ángelo Torres to Miss 9 Months
Tuesday, July 25th, 2017
Ángelo Torres at first refused to leave today's Joplin-Springfield game after he suffered a torn labrum while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Springfield starting pitcher said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Torres out of action for 9 months.

Currently Torres has a 4-11 won-lost record in 21 starts with a 6.88 ERA. He also has 134 strikeouts in 103.1 innings.
