League Punishes Pair for Fighting
Wednesday, July 5th, 2017
Today the league office handed out 13-game suspensions to Eric Carlton of the Bombers and Jorge Matos of the Reformers for their roles in a benches-clearing skirmish at Bronx Ballpark yesterday.
The league commissioner said in the statement to both organizations, "This league does not condone fighting and aggressive conduct on the field, thus we had to take action to discourage this behavior in the future."
So far this year Carlton has 6 home runs and a .246 batting average.
This year Matos has fashioned a 0-8 mark, 7.54 ERA and pitched 80 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .281 against him and he has logged 93 strikeouts.
