Ramírez Blisters Albuquerque

5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book. The latest honoree is Ricardo Ramírez of the El Paso Diablos.

Today he beat up their pitching to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it was the Albuquerque Cacti that salvaged a 10-8 victory at Hell Stadium.

"Ramírez was a tough out today," the Albuquerque manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure. I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win."

Speaking to the BNN writers, Ramírez added, "It was a real good day for me individually, but not a good one for the team. No loss is a good one."

Ricardo Ramírez singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Bill Russell in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

This season Ramírez has 4 home runs and a .340 batting average.
