Jones Batters Billings Big Time Tuesday, September 27th, 2016 Today at Cobb Field Nathan Jones put on a hitting clinic as the Springfield left fielder sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Billings pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. But the Mustangs didn't really seem to care, they won the game 7-6. He told BNN reporters after the game that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch. It's great to get 5 hits, but it would have been nicer to win the ballgame. too." Nathan Jones singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. So far in 2016 Jones is batting .271 with 15 home runs, 85 RBIs and 97 runs scored. He has 158 hits in 582 at-bats and a .340 OBP. |
