League Punishes Pair for Fighting Saturday, September 17th, 2016 At a recent Argonauts-Bumblebees contest at Golden Fleece Park, Brad Thomas of Astoria took exception to what Will McDonald of Pasadena said to him and tackled him. This led to an old-fashioned bench-clearing free-for-all between the two clubs. After the umpires restored order, they ejected both players. Today the league commissioner's office took action and suspended each player for 5 games, citing them for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct." This year Thomas has collected a .186 batting average to date with 8 hits in 43 at-bats, 3 RBIs, 1 home run and scored 6 times. He has played in 11 games. His record for the year is 9-13 in 29 starts and McDonald has a 5.16 ERA. |
