"Lately, I been uppercutting the ball too much. I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark," he said to sportswriters after the game. "No big long outs for me in this game... I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot three times. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Albuquerque left fielder had quite a game at Stars Field as he collected 3 hits in 3 at-bats, drove in 7 and scored 5 runs. José Parra hit a solo-shot off Scott Rogers in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Scott Rogers in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Ed Gillespie in the 6th and walked in the 9th. This season in 79 games Parra is batting .248 with 17 home runs, 47 RBIs and has scored 36 times. |
