Hodges Slams 5 Hits for Leningrad Friday, July 8th, 2016 History in the making. That's what the fans at Bulldog Stadium got to see today, when Leningrad outplayed the Bobcats 5-4. Forrest Hodges of the Communists came to the plate 6 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against Birmingham. In the postgame press conference the Birmingham skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink." Forrest Hodges singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th and hit an RBI double in the 11th. This year Hodges has hit at a .273 clip with 22 RBIs, 5 home runs and 35 runs scored. |
