5-Hit Barrage by Hoover Monday, April 27th, 2015 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Bill Hoover. It was a very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Hoover went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Chicago pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond at Cruz Bay Park, he had a career 5-5 day and something he will long remember. And the St. John Stingrays had a 6-5 victory over the Titans. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Bill Hoover singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. This season Hoover has delivered 25 hits in 68 at-bats for a .368 average with 3 home runs. He is getting on base at a .488 clip and his totals also include 13 RBIs and 16 runs scored. This year Hoover has played in 18 games. |
