Raiders Ruíz Smacks 5 Hits Saturday, September 6th, 2014 Next time the Bombers might think twice about pitching to Carlos Ruíz. Today at Bronx Ballpark the Reno right fielder really burned Bronx pitching, going 5-for-6 in the Raiders 22-6 triumph. "When he's seeing the ball well," his skipper told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded." Carlos Ruíz singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Millard Joseph in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, walked in the 5th, tripled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th. In 2014 Ruíz has hit at a .327 clip with 150 hits, 14 home runs, 76 RBIs and has scored 99 times. |
