Bad News for El Paso, Marcus Barber Hurt
Thursday, August 14th, 2014
The Diablos received bad news this morning. Marcus Barber will miss 12 months due to a damaged elbow ligament. He sustained the injury in the El Paso-Bristol City game while throwing a pitch. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Barber sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery."

Barber has made 22 starts, tossed 108 innings, struck out 80 batters and walked 35. His record is 8-9 with a 6.75 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .332 batting average.
