Antioch Starting Pitcher Hurt Tuesday, August 12th, 2014 Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Tom Green of the Coal Miners knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Joplin Fireballs while throwing a pitch. Because of a torn flexor tendon in his elbow, the Antioch starting pitcher is expected to miss 8 months. Green was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen." This season Green has compiled a 6-8 record with a 5.70 ERA in 24 starts. |
