García 5-5 for Antioch
Tuesday, July 1st, 2014
Today at The Coal Mine Jorge García put on a hitting clinic as the Antioch shortstop sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Springfield pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. But the Reformers didn't really seem to care, they won the game 11-7.
He told BNN reporters after the game that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch. It's great to get 5 hits, but it would have been nicer to win the ballgame. too."
Jorge García singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ron Hodges in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
To date this season García is hitting .243 with 2 home runs.
