Hot Bat Cooled, Welch Hitless Against Smugglers Wednesday, August 21st, 2013 Cats right fielder Matt Welch and his hot bat finally met their match today, ending his 21-game hitting string. The Smugglers held Welch hitless in 4 at-bats and also whipped Fort Worth 4-1 at Ashton Gate. Thus far this year Welch has hit .364 with 12 home runs and 28 RBIs. |
