Frend Nabs RCL Weekly Award Monday, August 20th, 2012 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Roberto Clemente League, but last week Steve Frend of the Seattle Sasquatch reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Frend rocked opposing pitching for a .481 average (13-27), 4 home runs and 10 RBIs to come away with the award. This year Frend has collected a .382 batting average to date with 158 hits in 414 at-bats, 106 RBIs, 31 home runs and scored 130 times. He has played in 106 games. |
