Roberto Clemente League Names Rookie of Month Wednesday, August 1st, 2012 Youngster Steve Frend emerged as the latest Roberto Clemente League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Seattle deserved the honor, batting .383 with 9 home runs and 28 RBI. Is the month of July a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Frend enjoy the limelight. In the current season, Frend has put up a .365 batting average with 129 hits, 25 home runs, 87 runs batted in and scored 108 runs. |
