Bad News for New York, Javier Flores Hurt Tuesday, June 26th, 2012 The New York Mafia were dealt a severe blow when Javier Flores was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Seattle Sasquatch. After the game, the team trainer reported Flores might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 36-year-old starting pitcher out for the rest of the season with shoulder inflammation. They indicated it would take Flores at least 4 months to heal. To date this season Flores sports a 6-4 mark with a 3.50 ERA in 17 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .281 batting average and has 96 strikeouts in 113 innings. |
