League Issues 5-Game Suspensions for Brawl Monday, September 18th, 2017 South Carolina's Mark Buchanan and Eureka's Bob Smith have been handed 5-game suspensions for their parts in yesterday's upheaval at Bomber Ballpark. The teams were notified today that the suspensions would go into effect immediately. According to the league commissioner Buchanan and Smith provoked and incited the brawl and bore the blame for what transpired. So far this season Buchanan has 16 home runs and a .259 batting average. This year Smith has compiled a 8-5 mark with a 4.91 ERA in 30 starts. |
