Collins Collects Player of the Week Award
Monday, September 11th, 2017
His face might be sun-baked after all the years he's invested in this game, but 36-year-old Chris Collins of the Montreal Bandits is still playing a kid's game -- and getting paid for it. The veteran left fielder had a tremendous week and was named the Roberto Clemente League Player of the Week.
Collins drilled 11 hits in 22 at-bats and 4 home runs on his way to posting a .500 average. He also knocked in 14 runs and scored 7 times.
This season Collins is hitting at a .313 pace with 18 home runs, 80 RBIs and has scored 60 times.
