No Hits for Salgado, Streak Ends at 24
Saturday, September 2nd, 2017
The hitting streak that Seattle third baseman Salvador Salgado had going was ended today by the So Cal Republic. Salgado, who had hits in his previous 24 games, was stymied today, but the rest of his team picked him up, earning the Sasquatch a 7-2 victory at Staples Field @ The Rose Bowl. He was hitless in 3 at-bats.
"Hitting streaks come and go. One good thing came out of it, however, it perked up my batting average a little bit, but did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with the streak always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win."
So far this season, Salgado has recorded a .311 batting average with 102 hits, 25 home runs, 59 RBIs, 58 runs scored and a .400 OBP.
