Ouch! Tom Owens Shelved by Injury Tuesday, July 18th, 2017 The Dallas Texans were dealt a severe blow when Tom Owens was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Washington Capitalists. After the game, the team trainer reported Owens might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 27-year-old starting pitcher out for the rest of the season with bone chips in his elbow. They indicated it would take Owens at least 5-6 months to heal. Owens has a 3-7 season record so far. In 20 starts, he has fanned 93 batters in 102.1 innings with a 4.49 ERA. |
