Powers Slams 5 Hits for Maple Tuesday, June 27th, 2017 No matter what the South Carolina Bombers threw at him today, John Powers hit it. He easily handled Bombers pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Marauders to a 11-7 triumph at Legends Park. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The South Carolina skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we might just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." John Powers hit a three-run home run off Jeremy Fisher in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and hit an RBI single in the 7th. This season Powers has hit 7 home runs and posted a .294 batting average. |
