He's now among the select sluggers who have hit three home runs in a game. In his record-setting day at St. Sebastian's Cathedral the Jersey left fielder went 4-4 with 3 RBIs and scored 4 times in the 8-7 victory over the Cardinals. "It was just one of those days," he said in the postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." "Sherratt was locked in," the Boston skipper said. "We made some pretty good pitches. Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's pretty hot right now. You've just got to tip your hat." Jeffery Sherratt hit a solo-shot off Brian O'Keggan in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Erik Hawkins in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off R.J. Lukies in the 8th. Sherratt is hitting .239 this year with 4 home runs and 11 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .300, 11 walks and scored 14 times. |
