Montreal, Las Vegas Make Trade Monday, May 22nd, 2017 It came down to the last hour of a self-imposed trade deadline, but the Montreal Bandits and Las Vegas Jokers finally came to an agreement on a trade that had been rumored for weeks. The trade sends Montreal's 23-year-old right fielder Masaki Baba, 23-year-old second baseman Valentín Alvarado and 22-year-old starting pitcher Lou Latulippe to Las Vegas in a swap for 31-year-old starting pitcher Maurice Gould and 29-year-old starting pitcher Rich Barrett. Both GMs seemed relieved that the deal had been completed with one stating, "We had to set a deadline to get it done." The players are expected to report to their new teams by tomorrow. This year Baba has 6 home runs and a .308 batting average. On the season Gould has compiled a 4-3 mark with a 4.25 ERA in 9 starts. In pitching 59.1 innings he has 75 strikeouts and 6 walks while limiting the opposition to a .263 batting average. |
