Jorge Cruz Out 11-12 Months
Sunday, April 29th, 2012
The Montgomery Mountain Cats were dealt a severe blow when Jorge Cruz was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Kansas City Tornadoes. After the game, the team trainer reported Cruz might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 26-year-old starting pitcher out for the rest of the season with a damaged elbow ligament. They indicated it would take Cruz at least 11-12 months to heal.

On his stats sheet for the year Cruz shows a 1-2 record, 5 starts, 25 innings, 14 strikeouts and a 5.04 ERA.
