Murphy's Treatment Not Going Well, Suffers Setback
Tuesday, September 6th, 2016
Matt Murphy is hurting again, just a few days into his treatment for a strained abdominal muscle. Apparently the injury worsened, so the Bombers sent the 25-year-old starting pitcher back to the doctors for reexamination. Murphy told them that the pain had gotten much worse in recent days. It was confirmed that the injury was indeed much more severe that first thought. He was sent to a specialist, who felt that treatment would be longer than first diagnosed. Murphy will now miss a minimum of 5 days.

Murphy has fashioned a 10-5 mark for the season, 3.76 ERA and thrown 115 innings in 19 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .234 against him.
