Hennessey Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Thursday, September 1st, 2016 Bob Hennessey of the Eureka Hornets just keeps going and going. The hot-hitting third baseman went 2-for-4 in his team's 3-1 victory over the Kansas City Tornadoes at Debris Field and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "He is definitely on a roll right now" said a Tornadoes pitcher. "I thought I made some good pitches against him, but he's a good hitter and hit 'em anyway." When asked about his performance, Hennessey said, "I don't care if I go hitless as long as we get the win." Bob Hennessey tripled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Reynaldo Martínez in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. In 123 games Hennessey is hitting .357 this season with 181 hits, 11 home runs, 65 RBIs, 43 walks, .408 OBP and has scored 80 runs. |
