Gui Stops Carolina Saturday, July 23rd, 2016 Hua-ding Gui had the Carolina Crush dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 7-0 shutout performance for the South Bend Shamrocks. He gave up 2 hits, issued 2 walks and had 1 strikeout. Carolina hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery. The opposing manager said, "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point. We just never figured him out." Thus far this season, Gui has tossed 115.1 innings in 14 starts, fanned 71 batters, walked 57 and put up a 4.06 ERA with 7 wins and 6 losses. |
