Nelson Tabbed as May's Starter of the Month Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 Jake Nelson took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the Thurman Munson League Pitcher of the Month award for May. The 21-year-old Hornets starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 4-0 won-lost record in 5 starts. This month he fanned 33 batters in 33 innings and compiled a 1.91 ERA. For this year Nelson has chalked up 6 wins and no losses in 10 starts with 68 strikeouts in 63.1 innings and a 2.70 ERA. |
