Most Wins Ever for Gould Tuesday, September 29th, 2015 Nolan Lyons no longer holds the top spot for most wins in a season. His league record has been shattered by Maurice Gould of the Las Vegas, who chalked up victory number 22 today at Lucky 7 Ballpark. When the game was decided, the fans gave him a tremendous standing ovation. Speaking after the game Gould said, "It takes a lot to win 22 in a season at this level... gotta stay healthy... Need a good bullpen... and it never hurts to get a lot of runs on the scoreboard. This season it all came together for me." On the season Gould has compiled a 22-6 mark with a 2.07 ERA in 32 starts. In pitching 257 innings he has 291 strikeouts and 39 walks while limiting the opposition to a .201 batting average. |
